God, light, steel wool photography, sparks, long exposure, sparklers, Piha, Auckland, New Zealand.
I purchased a dog lead, attached a metal hand whisk to the end of it,
placed steel wool inside it, and had a friend light it and then spin it
in wide circles as I took a long exposure
photo, capturing the wide arc of sparks that flew off the circle he was spinning. This is called Steel Wool Photography. His ‘ring’ forms the ‘O’ of the word God. Two other friends on
either side of him used sparklers to write the letters G and D
(backwards for them!). This was taken at Piha Lagoon with Lion Rock in the background. It made me think of 1 John 1:5 “God is light.”
