Oil, water, abstract, rings, bubbles, macro, mother of pearl
These oil and water abstracts involved a fair amount of set up and a ton
of patience. I used my macro lens to focus on the bubbles of oil
floating on water inside a glass dish suspended a certain distance above
chosen objects. These objects became reflected in the bubbles above, aided by
careful lighting. The dishwashing liquid I added created depth to the
oil, causing the walls of the oil bubbles to form solid lines that make
them look like rings. I liked how this one resembles one of my favourite jems, mother of pearl.
